A cable to electro magnetic frequencies looks a lot like an antenna. If we allow too much signal to noise ratio into the system, the machine will not work as expected. You may see unexpected movement such as, not stopping on position, moving when the machine isn’t supposed to move, or the opposite, stopping when it isn’t supposed to stop. You could also see infrequent faulting of the drive for feedback issues or current loop issues. Delikon Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Heavy Series Over Braided Flexible Conduit and Heavy Series Connector provide Shielding around a cable and protect the cable from EMI generated from other areas of the motion system. The heavy series flexible sheath is a magnetic shield to prevent radiation from entering and exiting the cable.
The Heavy Series Connector makes sure the shields are bonded and grounded at both ends to equipment enclosure or electric cabinet. A 360-degree metal clamp slip around the outer stainless braiding and the clamp is directly in contact with the shield when the connector back shell with a cone shape interior is tightened. The heavy series connector clamps tightly around the braiding and grounds the shielding, which helps to protect the cables against EMI noise.
