304 / 304L(S30400 / S30403) is a austenitic stainless steel with 18% chromium, 8% nickel. It is the most familiar and most frequently used alloy in the stainless steel family. This material has corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, ease of fabrication, excellent formability, high strength with low weight and toughness at cryogenic temperatures. These materials are mainly used for pharmaceutical and photographic equipment, water softener tanks, textile finishing equipment, heat exchangers and so on.
Standard: ASTM A276.
