Requirements:
Liquid polyaluminium chloride product is a clear solution, free of visible foreign matter or sediment. The specific gravity of the solution shall be 1.3 to 1.4 and shall contain 12.7 to 13 percent by weight expressed as aluminium ( 24 to 25 percent by weight polyaluminium chloride expressed as Al2O3). The percent basicity of the polyaluminium chloride shall be 85 percent. The solution shall have turbidity less than 50 NTU. It shall contain no substances in quantities capable of producing deleterious or injurious effects on the health of those consuming water that has been properly treated with liquid polyaluminium chloride product. The product shall be produced under careful manufacturing procedures and from suitably pure food grade raw materials.
